Today, the PowerHub kickstarter hit its goal. As we noted before, we’re quite interested in this particular hub. It has an HDMI output, three USB-A ports and two USB-C ports (one for power only, and one for the laptop).
The built-in battery suggests it’s meant for traveling. However we think it has dock-like characteristics because the USB-C cable to the laptop is not a “captive cable” like for example the Satechi USB-C hub. It can be replaced with a cable of any length you wish, which makes it possible to place the hub at a suitable location below your desk.
As of this writing, there are still 5 days left to join this Kickstarter. When the final product arrives, we’ll surely report here.
