Let’s have a look at this dock its ports:
S0 what we see here, is one Thunderbolt port to hook up the laptop, another Thunderbolt port for various uses, DisplayPort for the monitor, ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports and audio ports. It seems to us, that Elgato chose to stick to a pretty standard port layout, suitable for most users. There’s no support for legacy ports like eSATA (like the CalDigit TS3), or FireWire 800 or S/PDIF (like the OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock). It can do dual 4K monitors or a single 5K monitor, as is usual for Thunderbolt 3. Furthermore, it will charge most any laptop at the highest speed because the dock can deliver 85W.
In the meantime, have a look at our selection of docks & hubs!
