MacRumors today posted a video on YouTube where they review the DockCase, a fascinating laptop case that comes with a built-in USB-C hub.
So far, we’ve seen a lot of hubs that look very similar. This is something completely different; it’s a case that looks more like a sleeve. Built into the bottom of the case is a USB-C hub with quite a variety of ports. In fact, we haven’t seen such a number of ports on any other hub.
Do note that the review is of a prototype. DockCase is currently running a (funded) Kickstarter campaign, after which it will enter mass production. However, there are plenty of Kickstarters that have hit major snags during the mass production phase (like the Bourge Design hub, that dropped 4K@60Hz refresh rates after pre-orders were fulfilled).
