Review: Zendure A6PD 20,100mAh Portable Charger with USB-C Input/Output

Build Quality7/10
USB-C Implementation7/10
Overall Score7.3

What the Zendure A6PD Portable Charger does well:

  • Charges laptops With USB-C  PD quickly
  • Battery pack itself is very high quality
  • USB-C for input and output
  • Quick Charge QC 3.0 Compatible

What the Zendure A6PD Portable Charger could improve:

  • The included cable seems high quality but does not consistently work often flickering between working and not working based on how it is moved.
  • Still includes legacy micro-USB that can be used for charging when they could have included another USB-C port.

The Zendure A6PD 20,1000 mAh Portable Charger is a sleek and practical battery pack that is great for laptops and phones. The package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter on one end but you may want to use your own cable rather than the included one as in our experience the included one fluctuates between working and not working when moved.

The portable charger supports USB-C PD at 45W for both input and output. The battery pack also has a USB-A port With Quick Charge QC 3.0 and for the input, it in addition to the USB-C port sports a micro-USB although we find this inclusion unnecessary and would rather see a second USB-C port. The portable charger has four LEDs that indicate how much charge is remaining. Fully charging my Dell Inspiron 17 7000 took under 2 hours and over 2 bars used on the battery pack.

Here is some charging information I collected using Accubattery Pro on my Oneplus 3:

This was using the Oneplus Dash charge cable with the Zendure battery packs USB-A  port

This was using the included USB-C to USB-C cable and the USB-C PD port.

These are not ideal conditions for charging a device as one plus does not support quick charge, however it is evident even so that the phone charges faster with the battery packs USB-C PD port rather than with the USB-A port.

Final Evaluation:

Zendure overall has made a great battery pack for charging laptops and cell phones. Because of its weight and size, we would not recommend this battery pack for those who just need to top up their cellphone once or twice a day as it is overkill and much smaller options exist. However at its current price as of writing this ($74.99 on Amazon), we can highly recommend this portable charger for those who need to charge their laptops or those who need to charge their phones for multiple days away from an outlet.
