Review: The Whitefox Mechanical Keyboard
What the Whitefox Mechanical keyboard does well:
- Great quality in the keyboard and accessories.
- Fully customizable and programmable
- Interchangeable cable
What the keyboard could improve upon:
- No included USB-C to USB-C cable
- Case is bulkier than it needs to be
- The software for it is not easy to use
The Whitefox was sent to us to review but in no way does this influence our review or opinion of the product.
The Whitefox mechanical keyboard is a unique keyboard. It is well suited for being brought between the office and the home because it is a compact board (65%). Also, it is suitable for many use cases as it is fully programmable.
Everything about the construction of the keyboard exudes quality. The CNC machined anodized aluminum case houses the switches. The switches are in this case the Hako True, but other options are available. The switches are complemented by PBT plastic keycaps.
The keyboard includes a high quality 1.75 meter gold plated braided USB 3.0 to USB-C cable. The cable is used to connect the keyboard to your computer. This works great, although in the future, we would love to see an additional USB-C to C cable included.
The carrying case included with the keyboard, while a bit bulky, is very nice and has ample room for all your keyboard accessories. It even has room for bigger accessories like a mouse or laptop power supply.
Overall the Whitefox mechanical keyboard is a great buy for users who want a keyboard that they could easily transport between the office and the home. Its use of premium materials and components allow its high price to be warranted. You can get the Whitefox keyboard in the Kono shop.
You can also check-out the newer model, called the Hexgears X-1, from the Kono store featuring RGB lighting and bluetooth connectivity. We’ll aim to review the Hexgears in the near future!
